I hope they weren't white ones  .

Bit iffy not stopping if the police asked him to, they tend not to like that and handily have notepads for making a note of registration numbers.

They did make a note of his reg, they left it up to me if I wanted to take it any further. The look on plods faces when we were talking and he just drove off was priceless though

definitely take it further - at the least report the accident and the driver will have to produce his documents even if you do decide to take it no further.
there's probably a reason why he didn't stop.

I didn't want to be posting in this thread again, but here goes.

Approaching T-Junction, wanting to turn right. Slowed down, looked to my left only to see a car cutting across the junction on my side of the road, heading straight for me  . Incredulously, it didn't appear to be slamming on the brakes or swerving to avoid me. Over the bonnet and spat into the road. Hip blummin painful.

A witness stopped and called the emergency services. Some nice locals brought me a blanket to keep me warm. Ambulance crew gave me a thorough check over saying nothing appeared to be broken and once I'd stopped shaking with the shock, suggested that my living room sofa with a mug of tea would be better for me than a A&E trolley. They said not to hesitate to call if there was any problem.

The kindly locals offered to look after the bike. Delivered home (about 8 miles) in a Surrey Police car.

I've a sore hip, shoulder and shins, plus my back and neck are started to stiffen up a bit. I think that it'll be painful getting going tomorrow.

Reckon I had a lucky escape. I could have been a lot worse off.

Ouch, sounds nasty and scary. Did you get the drivers details as any damage etc should be claimed off their insurance.

Get well soon.

Cheers

Ouch, sorry to here Keith this sounds painful. Glad you were well cared for by the local residents and emergency services, and with nothing broken shows you're still young enough to bounce :) .

Did the car that hit you stop?

[quote="Keith"]Reckon I had a lucky escape.

Well in some ways perhaps, but I'd say the unluckiness of getting hit in the first place is greater :( .

I think I was so shocked that the car was on my side of the road and heading straight for me that I didn't tense up. My PowerTap was recording throughout and you'd think there would be a spike in the heart rate but there isn't.

It doesn't look too bad having had a nice soft body to cushion its fall, but to be honest I've not really much interest in examining it today. It can wait.

Yes. I've his details. He was questioned by the Police.

Yeah, I know what you mean! Only asked because it sounds like a frame smashing sort of affair...

Ouch! You know it's bad when your first instinct isn't to check the frame.

Hope you make a speedy recovery. I can let you have the details of the lawyers who are dealing with my claim if you need some.
