Man with a van or at least a large estate car needed!

Postby Amy » Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:46 pm

Please, would anyone be able to help me get a couple of chairs back from Ikea in Croydon?

I've decided to use my birthday money to replace the two old grotty chairs in my flat - and to be honest, not only do Ikea do chairs small enough for my flat but I can't really afford anything else at the moment....

PM me - I'll be back at work next week after my two week stint in Croydon Crown Court (if I'm not then work will go ballistic - I'm that needed  )

D@mn, my rap sheet caught up with me...

Been hanging around at the taxpayers' expense and the courts' pleasure carrying out my civic duty of jury service

How big are these beasts? Might they fit in a medium-sized estate car?

Billy the bookcase fits happily in my V40 with the back seats down, so I'm guessing Charlie chair would as well? Are they flat pack or assembled already? pm or text me if my services required

Can you not get them on the bus, they're quite big and as a bonus if the bus is full you'll still be able to sit down.

Hope that helps :D

ps I'm an idiot.

Thanks for the offers so far...

As for a trailer, my friend is working on one to transport lengths of timber - he already has a Yak BOB, one to transport bikes and one to transport the cat and groceries (not at the same time...)

I'm sure the chairs would fit in a medium sized estate car - they're not exactly the biggest Ikea do even though I don't think they're flat packed :D

Dombo, unless other offers come in I like the look of better( ), I'll probably take you up - not sure what I can offer in return but I'm more than happy to pay petrol and even tea and cake at Ikea itself :D

Yes, Ant, thanks....

PS I got stuck at Mitcham Junction on the way home tonight - TWO #@*!£&@#! buses failed to turn up - should've waited the 20 mins for the train :x

What was the problem with the buses, leaves on the road?

Roadworks perhaps, seems everywhere I've been this week I've been held up by roadworks.

Been, done and dusted - thanks Dombo, at least it was an excuse to avoid the X-Factor 'conversation' in your household!!

As for the buses, I think they were like the trains - short of drivers!

I've also noticed a lot of roadworks around lately too.
