Sun Ride 15/11

Postby TimNick » Sat Nov 14, 2009 8:22 am

Not like me but due to the amount of standing water and 30mph winds will ride Sunday this week so if anyone's up for a 16/17 (no one gets dropped!) ride on Sunday (Kent way or Ranmore/Leith/Box poss?) let us know by post/PM. Can meet either GBs or CSS (I'm in Sarf Croydon after all)...

....for those riding Saturday take care and have fun!

unfortunately I have a driving lesson tomorrow morning or I would join you. Don't worry, I won't be driving anywhere near where you'll be riding!

I might try to go for a ride tomorrow afternoon - the weather really does look rubbish today. poo. :(

Hey Tim, would have loved to have joined you, but have midday plans. Take care out there with all that surface water and debris.

Take care on the sharp lefthander on flanchford road (after reigate) - there was water right across the road last sunday when I did the club ride on my own, it would have been very easy to steer away from it - into on-coming traffic...

Right then, Metcheck has forecast as dry from 6am and even the possibility of that strange yellow orb like thingy in the sky making the odd appearance, plus the wind should be a lot less on ye ole Beaufort scale!

....so...

Meet at CSS at 9amish, leave by 9.30am.....we can firm up route at CSS....

See y'all there for an Agreeable day trip into the country...

Got to css at 0928 and missed the group. Had a quiet ride on my lonesome :(

What a great day to be out on a bike.

Great ride out today. :D Thanks to all who trundled along.

Mike took us along Chipstead valley road then round to Epsom through some very messy roads, debris and water everywhere but all part of the fun. We all did the Ranmore climb which I've not done before and its a bit of a tease, you thing its quite easy but its deceptive and a right little leg tester. Steve B and I said goodbye to everyone else at the top and headed back over Boxhill and onto home, not before having a serious speed blast down the 217 towards Sutton, cheers for that Steve :D

oh and I've never seen so many cyclists mending punctures as I did today, there were casualties everywhere you looked. :(
