There are several sellers in Hong Kong flogging a 900 lumen(!) LED light (brand 'Magicshine') on eBay from as little as £65 inlcuding delivery. For comparison, a Nuke Proof light using the same SSC P7 emitter costs £250, which to me is unfathomable.
Last year I bought a 200 lumen LED light from Hong Kong on eBay for £30 and use it for my commute. It's the best light I've owned: virtually indestructable (unlike countless overpriced Cateyes I've been through with their flimsy bike mounts and crappy switches) and exceedingly bright for a commuter light, but not quite bright enough for serious offroading, IMO.
I'm seriously considering getting one of these Magicshine lights from Hong Kong; if I do I'll be joining you on night rides, for sure. Thursdays are fine for me.
