The committee, which strives to do what it believes is best for the club, on behalf of the club's membership. It was based on a feeling of disappointment with the previous venue (they had stiffed us for extra cost for coffee - Snoop had to dig into his own pocket to pay at the end of the evening) and a feeling that we should try somewhere new to see if we could do even better.

The agreement has always been that if this year is not a great dinner (attendance or the venue or the overall "experience" feedback) then we will revert to a local venue - probably back to SPH.

Of course, if you feel this is inadequate, you are welcome (as are all members of the club) to come along to the AGM and put yourself forward for one of the positions on the committee. I'm pretty sure a willing volunteer to help organise future dinners would be very welcome.

Having been involved in the past these are difficult things to organise and hard work even if you don't have a full time job to contend with too. I think that we need to try new places and as we have come a long way since I first started going to them in 2002 and it has got better year after year.

Chapeau! to those organising it this time around - and lets all go and have a grrreat time... :D

And I did a mass email the replies to which swung heavily in favour of Wotton House. I do hope that integrity is not being called into question here y'all.

Did somebody mention that we also get a special rate for the rooms at Wotton House? If so how much?

I want to stop there and enjoy the time away.

Though it's miles away, and Selsdon Park is less than 2 miles off, I'm looking forward to the changed venue. Well done, committee, for sorting it. The bus ride back could be fun, too ... :)

Officially, PM Guru Paul as dinner organiser he will know for sure. However I looked online and they do have rooms available inc brekkie at a rate somewhat less than a ton (which I think was what they were proposing to charge us??)

All the rooms in Wotton House have gone so I had get a room about 3 minutes away, shame because I wanted to make a weekend of it.

Looking forward to it :D

PS I start my new job on Monday

A quick reminder - Aodan and I will be at CSS before the club run this Saturday 21st Nov armed with dinner tickets. If you would prefer to buy direct rather than through the ACC website then bring your money, Aodan or I will be happy to relieve you of it in exchange for nice, shiny dinner tickets. Mmmmmm.

Unlike previous years I can't manage to do this week in week out so this is a one off buying opportunity (from me at least), so don't delay :D

Cheers - Snoop

Doug,

Are these also going to be sold at the cafe too (by Joyce) as you might get more take up there.

Hi Alex. I believe so, and certainly were it my responsibility the caff would form a part of the sales strategy. I ain't the dinner organiser tho so best check with Guru P to be sure. Given that a significant number of sales came from CSS in past two years, I and Aodan offered to do a stint there. Just trying to help things along my good fellow :)
