[quote="mrP(Boonen)VT"]Anyone asked GB's view on holding a stock of kit that they're not likely to shift if we change it :?:

They hold stock of the kit!?

Hi, following the committee meeting I attended, and as I understand it, this matter will be considered by a specially identified group after Christmas. As yet I am unaware who or with what terms of reference.

Notwithstanding, Colin Batemen copied this and even if we were not to change kit it would seem prudent to let this company quote for new kit in case we can be offered better pricing or quality. Perhaps the group might consider this within their remit.

best wishes

Alan

Can i just say as a new member of acc i think the club kit looks really good.I know I havnt been wearing it long so i not bored with it yet but compared to a lot of other clubs colours it looks smart and very distinctive. Its easily spotted and stands out. Ive seen it on the humanrace website and i thought i saw it on the bbc today regarding cyclo cross. I for one think the santini quality for the price is ok. I also think that when you deal with a supplier directly although there are savings to be made getting an order togeather can cause headaches at least with gb you can try it for size and feel the quality before you hand over your cash. As ive read on this thread peoples taste do differ quite a bit but i cant belive that people join or not on the basis of kit colour and as for not many woman wearing the kit i think thats because most team sport tops cycling, football rugby etc are quite masculine .woman seem to go for softer single coloured tops well my wife does anyway. Plus i just spent £200 so can we leave it alone!!!!!!

What Steve said.

Also the vertical lines are slightly slimming - even if the Santini sizing isn't.

Assuming that I'm re-elected to the committee at the AGM, I've volunteered to chair the sub-committee tasked with looking into the kit - we will not only be looking at the design, but also: the implications of any change, the supplier, the stockist and distribution, pricing, the sponsorship question and anything else relevent.

I will be looking for volunteers to help with the tasks.

My plan is to move it along fairly quickly, with fortnightly meetings, starting in the week after Christmas and reporting progress to the committee meetings.

Any volunteers, please let me know below.

Alan and Toks, I assume you are in and will be willing to come to meetings in Bromley.

I must say upfront, that I hate paying to advertise, so any sponsorship of the kit will be on condition that the sponsor provides kit FOC to members of the club

[quote="Roy Green"][quote="Hal"]Personally I like our current kit, I`m proud to wear it and find riders easy to spot when racing and when around town.

There is a big finincial implication to ask members to buy a full set of new kit, even if it needs replacing after a few years.

This will lead to a few years of mutiple kits which looks a bit untidy.

Yellow is good and bright (black looks good to you but not car drivers at dusk)

I`m against the idea of sponsorship.

The idea of a retro jersey/training top is one I support.

Hal

With you 100% on all these thoughts, Hal. If it ain't broke, why change it?

Hear, hear!

Festival still have sponsors from DECADES ago, Kingston Wheelers have to change their kit everytime a sponsor drops out - and I don't have the money to be buying a new kit every year on top of every thing else like living...

Er... nor do I Amy. The kit is around 6/7 years old i think it should be updated. If that happens every 6/7 years whats wrong with that. Also nobody has to buy it if they don't too. And its not like we'd want to the kit changed every year  Hi Graheme I'm happy to come to meeting if they're not held too early in the evenings. :D

I think we should change the kit once a year, like the footie clubs do. We can try out different styles and different colours, also, should we consider having winter and summer colours, with the winter ones being slightly brighter due to the lower light conditions.

We could have a year where we have slightly longer shorts, and then maybe a year where we have short shorts. Could consider different pocket configurations and collar types and of course arse slogans which are defo the way to go. When we look at possibilities please make sure we don't discount tartan at the outset, it is growing on me.

Cheers

This is verytrue Phil as yu seem t be getting skinnier by the week.

I have yet to purchase the kit so it will be new to me when I do. I think any replacement would need to be as distinctive as the current one, you can always spot an Acc Jersey amongst the crowd.

There are no reasons why there cannot be women specific colours / design or if they are to be re-designed then input from the ladies would makesure they have no excuses for not wearing them.

Leffe blonde, saving the vino for Sunday. Intending to ride to Brighton in the morning for a fry up so want to make sure it has plenty to soak up.

Met the Glasgow Wheelers in Mallorca one time - they had red tartan shorts and blue tartan shorts

Quite a large group, all male and handy to meet up with as it was a pretty strong head wind. Being guys they stopped at the side of the road and then as I rode past there was a sudden cry of 'I didn't know there was a lady in the group'

Marek, as ACCS number 1 hostage to fashion I think your patronage of Rapha and obvious taste for timeless understated and overpriced garb would make you a dead cert for the working group, maybe with the job title of syle guru, if not that, then you could trade on your enchanting qualities and penchant for constructive criticism and advice. I know Amy will second this proposal.

The above suggestion of arse slogans is a good one. Can I suggest "I'm Agreeable".
