Also do we have access to a blueprint for the kit... i would love to throw a few designs into the mix even if it was only for inspiration...?

A pair of bib shorts and s/s club shirt is getting on for £90 to £100 then add on a long sleeved shirt and possibly a windproof gillet and your getting near the £200 mark. Of course you can buy as little or as much as you like but most people who do buy the kit seem to have an average of 2 items. Personally i really dont mind if it gets changed then ill look like one of the older members and not a newbie anymore. Mind you by the time it gets discussed, designed argued about re- designed agreed, quotations obtained, re-designed again, samples ordered made and sent , viewed ,possibly liked/ not liked ,re-designed again, samples viewed again and finally stock levels and pricing for members and orders finally being taken my kit will most probably need replacing.

[quote="Grahame"][quote="Marcus"] There are no reasons why there cannot be women specific colours / design or if they are to be re-designed then input from the ladies would makesure they have no excuses for not wearing them.

Actually, there are.

We have registered Gold, black and white as our club colours with BCF. And, whilst most of you know my opinion of that "august institution", a women-specific colour scheme would not be allowed to be used in any BCF sanctioned competition (ie road race, cyclocross race, etc). Would it be reasonable to expect women to buy two sets of kit if they wished to compete?

Aside from BC registration a club's colours are it's primary identifying factor, and in Addiscombe's case gold, black, and white have been for 90 years. To throw away a big part of the club's history and it's primary identifier would be stupid in my opinion. You can ride anywhere in the country and the colours are recognised, you don't have to race, if you do a sportif then the colours are spotted and the club identified by others, and introductions often made questions about the club asked etc.

Is it just the colours which are registered, or is it the actual kit?

Put another way, if we had a new kit in the same colours* would people still be able to race in the old kit or would they be forced to fork out for a new one?

*If gold, black and white was good enough for Mills and Paul (and many others over the past 90 years), it's good enough for me.

As we all know the club colours are yellow (gold), black and white, so does yellow have to be the dominant colour in the jersey or , as Sean, suggests, would a mainly white top with bits of yellow and black still fulfil the requirements?, after all there is really little white in the jerseys at the moment, time to reverse the situation? Also do you need to upgrade the kit, do you have to race in the latest design or is it just the colours that are important, I see people wearing the old style top still, a new design wouldn't mean people having to spend £200 on new kit (I've only got one jersey anyway, for racing)? And better yet it would be a subtle way of indicating that you've been in the club a long time by wearing the ("soon-to-be")old design.

I'll be keeping my old jersey anyway and wearing the usual plain black shorts in summer and bib tights in winter.

No but I've got a whiteyellowandblackprint for the kit around here someplace...

Actually I think I do have a blueprint somewhere... but that's for London Dynamo's strip. Its in the draw with my orangeishyellowgreenandblackprint design for Norwood Paragon.

Then of course there's the skyblueredandwhiteprint schematic I have of the Sydenham wheelers outfit.

Oh I don't know, life was much simpler when all we used to worry about were blackprints (until someone from Rapha nicked 'em)

Just the maximum size. Is your face square? If not then it will only go to the maximum in one direction.

While the only official requirement is to use the colours gold, white and black, I think in the past there has also been a more vague idea to have gold, white and black hoops somewhere on the jersey.

The current kit and any old kits that I have seen have had white, black and yellow hoops somewhere (i.e.) current kit has white hoop bordered by black hoops on a yellow background on the arms, Mills and Paul version has similar hoops but around the body of the jersey.
