Gloves Recommendation please

Postby Marek » Thu Nov 26, 2009 9:47 pm

I have tried a few different winter gloves and am having trouble finding anything that doesn't fall apart after a while (Gore gel type) or have annoying inners that come out as you pull out your fingers and therefore are a right pain to put back on (Altura). Can anyone recommend something else, preferably not going to cost more than £35.

Cheers

Specialized winter gloves. Not waterproof but hey, if it's raining stay indoors. Replace every couple of years as with most gloves

Marek I've got these ones and never had any grief with the inners coming out, were your fingers sticky at the time then? with all those cakes you've been eating

At the risk of sounding like a contributor to the Viz Top Tips column, I get a couple of long food bag clips (like those here)and close them over the fingers (of each glove, not your own) before they go in the wash. Stops the liner unravelling, see?

Can I just check on the Altura ones, are they basically two sets of gloves? Just that I have some old winter ones from Altura and the inners were coming out when I took them off, this was a pain when stop in the cafe, for cake, as when want to put back on have to spend an age trying to sort out. If those Altura on the link are two sets of gloves, then I might go for that. Andrew???

I have the originals with the fixed lining but it looks like the newer model has a removable liner which is probably due to sticky finger feedback.

Hi Marek, I've also got those (really) annoying altura ones, the liner isn't separate as it's attached at the cuff but comes out of the fingers when you take your gloves off. I just got some nice warm ski gloves with a properly attached inner liner, discounted at Decathlon.

I've got similar gloves (not Altura) and have the same issue - annoys the hell out of me! :D

I've found that if the inners keep coming out when you take your hands out then staple the end of the finger but remember to remove your finger tip.
From then on you'll never have inner glove misery again, just don't count on ever sliding your finger all the way in ever again.

If people are struggling this much to take off and put on a pair of gloves George I'm not sure I'd trust them with a stapler without adult supervision  .
