Joining the Addiscombe

Postby Andy » Tue Oct 06, 2009 11:00 am

Had a bit of a look on the forum but there's oddly no sign of information for this anywhere.

Been at university for last three years so away from the fold. So, how to join the mighty Addiscombe again?

Send subs to Phil Nash, and how much would it be?

Cheers,
Andy

Just to check; if I sign up, it'll run through to next October or only two months?

Still meet 9am at CSS too? One thing that has changed is the road layout - now, going through Coulsdon, it seems to spit you out into a dual carriageway

OK, great, I've done it online.

One more thing - excuse the over-zealous checking and posting! - do I now wait for it to be processed, and will a membership card to be sent to me?

I only say this because when I tried rejoining a few years ago, I sent a cheque to Phil Nash with subs. There was no response, no confirmation of receipt - I don't even know if it got to him.

I signed up on October 7. £20 has been credited to my account. And I've heard nothing - no membership card, no response, nothing.

The email below is from Phil Nash.

Am I to assume that I've paid £20 for a three week period up to 31 October? Having specifically posted on the forum before making the payment to check that it would last for 12 months and being told 'I get a whole year'?

Obviously there's been a mix-up or something like that. But, to put it simply, I want to just sort it out because I want to start racing Cat 4 - for Addiscombe - as soon as possible. Hell, I'll pay another £20 if I have to (though it seems a little silly).

So, what should I do guys?

Email is below, Phil assumed that I'm a re-subscriber rather than a new subscriber:

Hi Andy,

The payment you made was for the current ACC year, up until 31/10/09 I
assume, as I havent received a payment for this year! Reminders were
sent out earlier in the year.

Membership cards will be issued at the start of the next ACC year
1/11/2009 as soon as a member pays their subs!

Regards,

Phil.

Hi Andy, I've emailed Phil to point him towards your query.

I look after the website and will discuss with him if there's anything we can do on the website/Paypal system to improve process.

is there a current membership list? I pay mine by SO and had previously incorrectly had it coming out 01Jan09, I corrected it this year to come out in November, but no confirmation received either. I think for Phil it would be better if members didn't have to directly contact him to find this out?

Just to note I've been advised Phil is currently away on holiday for a week or so, so I think you may have to wait for his return for advice on this.

Hi All,

Just to clarify matters with regard to the addiscombe membership year.

The membership year runs from the 1st of November to the 31st of October the following year.

If a new member joins between the 1st of July and the 31st of October, the membership fee (if paid in full) covers them until the 31st of October the following year.

We dont send acKnowlegemets of payments for existing members, the membership card will be sent to confirm payment.

New members receive an ackowledgement by email and a confirmation when the coommittee approve the application.

Membership cards are currently at the printers and will be sent to paid up members in the near future.

Andy, there seems to be a mix up somewhere, I dont think you informed me you were a lapsed member. I've pm'd you to sort things out.

Steve, cant find any trace of a payment or membership form from you when did you send it?. I've pm'd you.

Any questions please contact me at membershipsecretary@addiscombe.org

Phil.

Thanks Phil,

With everything in order, I've purchased a BC silver membership/full racing license.
