No big surprise. SPOTY is usually for people who've won stuff, and Wiggo came 4th in the TdF, not even on the podium.

[quote="Sean Hogan"]Given his couldn't give a f*** attitude at the team presentation last year I'm not surprised he's missing.

Ditto.

I like Wiggins but think he tries too hard act cool/rebelious. What kind of example did last year's attitude convey?

Don't think he deserves to be there this year anyway. Cracking performance in the tour but 4th isn't as impressive as Cav's wins this year.

6 wins by Cav is sensational and he should finish in the top 3 in SPOTY.

I am a big motor racing fan and have followed Button since his days in the junior formulas. I have always been a huge supporter of his and will find it difficult not to give him my vote.

Not sure the others in the running are in the same league as these. So hope eveyone votes and get some well deserved recognition for a British cyclist who consistently beats the best in the world not just once as have some of the others in the running.

Button? You must be joking! In the same car as Lewis, he'll get shown up for sure...

Don't think I could ever give an F1 driver the gong, too many external influences goin' on there.

Doubt the sport of gymnastics is popular enough but I'm leaning towards Beth Tweddle @ the mo. A world champ in an event that's all about the person. Well as close as you can get. There's a bit of overcoming adversity in there too after she fell from the bars - her fave thang.

Of the more likely contenders I hope it's the young man on two wheels, he's had a cracking year.

And why is Giggsy Wiggsy in there?

Ryan Giggs!!!!???? Why? Nice enough bloke, but really! Makes a mockery of the whole damn show. Man Utd Welsh conspiracy, me thinks. 30% of the total vote - I kid you not!! what on earth was that all about. I'd be stunned (like most of the audience)if I cared.

A poster on another blog was asking where you can download his single   .

Didn't another Moan Utd player win a few years ago for no obvious reason? Oh well, I guess they'll be dancing in the streets of Osaka.
