If there's one part of a bike you don't want breaking it's the stem. I found a hairline crack in one of mine once; glad I found it then rather than while out of the saddle hauling on the bars. :shock:

I've always thought that the one part of the bike I do not want made from carbon is either the stem or the bars.

Yes, I do. I have had my fair share of crashes, the majority of which were not my fault.

I don't mind crashing, nothing like a bit of drama...

Recently, I seem to have developed the technique of cushioning the bike from impact in a crash using something soft - me! :roll:

I suppose skin and bone can heal itself, Shimano doesn't! :lol:
