Bec take the Addiscombe in Belle Vue Cup 1st round

Postby Snoop Doug » Wed Dec 02, 2009 9:17 am

Dagnabbit we lost last night!!

A good match - quite even, though not quite even enough.

Mr  , Joe, Colin, John, Guru P (in full ACC colours with a 30 mile ride home after), Rob RE and moi took on the might of the Bec. They know how to TT and they know how to throw too. Team ACC were a player down so I played solo (basically the opposition gets two throws for my one).

The Belle Vue Cup is a pairs game. Two rounds of pairs from 301 with a deciding round of everyone in from 1001. Got that?

ACC highlights. Plenty of throws up around the high 60s and 70s, and John got a 94 and Rob RE nailed a 100. Colin and Mr  combined for a fantastic finish - I'll leave it to them to tell you more.

All even after round 1, I lost the last game of the round - close but no cigar. I had enough chances to put away a double 8 just couldn't deliver the killer blow.

Round two - all even after the first two pairs. I lost my match again, boo hoo. Another OK game by me but just as my double 12 finish hoved into view the Bec nailed a double 1 and it was goodnight Vienna.

The Bec then took the deciding game so there was no need for the round of 1001.

A good fun night out, good banter, good darts, a beer and a few sarnies to boot.

Next week it's a league home game against the Bec - oh I hope revenge is sweeeeet.

Cheers - Snoop

Snoop - I'm so sorry I couldn't be there. :(

Keith said you played brilliantly Mr Snoop, getting down to doubles despite only having half as many goes as your opponents.

Tactically, I'm surprised you were the lone player...I mean I'm not sure how it's decided, but it might have been better to have a strong finisher (John/Joe) as the lone player...something to consider if we're in same situation in future.

I can play next Tue so hopefully we'll trounce the Bec then. I can't do the 15th though against East Surrey so if there's anyone else out there who fancies themselves a bit of an arrer-chucker (or just wants to turn up and have a laugh) you'll be made v welcome.

Well done to rest of Team ACC - sounds like there were some good darts being thrown.

Snoop played very well Tamar, both games he played were very tight and they only just pipped him.
[quote="Snoop Doug"] Colin and Mr  combined for a fantastic finish - I'll leave it to them to tell you more.

I nearly fluked a 108 finish but left 42 when my final dart at the bull missed and went in the pointy bit of the 8.
After their go Colin stepped up, 2 darts straight in 2 and double tops, that'll do nicely.
I don't know who was more surprised, us or them.

Next time you play Keith Tamar just make sure he needs to get a 3 at some point, you'll have all evening to get what you need :D .

Another enjoyable evening chucking pointy things, not hats.

A good evening and one of the highlights above along with a 92 and the £10 for Plymouth in the Scratch card draw!
