MTB for me Saturday then. 0830 start Westcott then Leith-Holmbury-Pitch-Holmbury-Pitch-Leith. Tea and cake at tower on return leg, approx 26 miles. Back by lunchtime.

It will help your road cycling immensely. Just remember NOT to point out obstacles etc on the trail. And don't draft.

It's not snowing here in Dallas, but it has been very cold over night.

Sun's out now and it is warming up.

If the forecast holds out then I expect I'll be out on the MTB on Saturday too Dombo, be local trails for me though.

If you can pick up a cheap hack then they're great fun Adam.

I hate snow. Its cold, wet, white, turns to sludge and slush at the blink of an eye and serves no real purpose...ban it I say.

Bah humbug. Merry bloody xmas one and all...

Nirvana Cycles in Westcott www.nirvanacycles.com are flogging off their ex-rental bikes, all decent mtbs. I have a rigid hardtail '97 model Trek I bought off ebay for £130 quid which is a blast of purist fun. Otherwise the Specialized Hardrock range is excellent value.

Given the state of the roads today - black ice all over the place - I'll be leaving the road bike for a while.

Merry Xmas everbode :D
