I'll judge the roads in the morning, may be fine if it's just been cold and the damp has dried. Any doubts and I'll go Redhill A25 Polhill, can have a cafe stop there if wanted, then back through Westerham on A25 and up Botley Hill and on through Warlingham. Extra bits can be added. That's what I would be mostly doing should anyone want to join me, 18s pace.

I drove to Holmbury this afternoon. Roads were mostly dry but with some patches of excitement. Will see what it looks like in the morning.

Good ride had by all in the Trainingish Group I think. We went down the main roads to avoid the ice. Anthony is going well, Nick is improving and George has forgotten how to push down on the pedals.

Yep, Ant did his usual trick of sitting there saying he's going to take it easy for whatever reason and then at the last minute nipped over and joined your group

The Steve B ride to the normal cafe sounded 'fun' - I don't like testing for ice the way his lot did... So I went with  and hung on most of the way round - just them hills kept getting steeper though was going better by the time we got to Botley Hill. Only the four of us - Andrew, Pete, John M and myself - as the rest went with Pete S up and over Farthing Down. There's no report on their experiences - yet. Hope it was OK and I honestly hope they all didn't come back with you, Pete, for tea!!

Yeah felt good out there today considering I've had a cold all week and it only cleared up yesterday. Great ride, roads were fine. Some funny moments with Ben and his lack of cornering and his inability to sit on the front

The exit from my garages was icy this morning and with a couple of days where it hasn't got above freezing I wasn't going anywhere other than main roads today.

Pete, I hope your group was okay as everyone seemed to follow you away. Too many for one group really but no-one seemed to want to join me on the main roads and just sheeped off after you.

As Amy mentioned it was just four of us down to Redhill and then left along the A25 to Westerham. This starts with a nasty little climb out of Redhill and is then one of the most roller-coaster of roads I know. Although not the most exciting of routes in weather like today's I'm happy to go that way. Although a main A road as it's so close to the M25, which takes the traffic, it's never very busy and is wide enough for safety. It's fairly green too either side and goes through some nice places like Godstone and Bletchingley so you're never just bashing along a long dull road.

I didn't want to stop today and then get cold on restarting so checked if the others were happy to cut up Botley at Westerham and have a shorter ride today. No complaints and a drama free day apart from Amy's puncture in Warlingham. Short, sweet, and safe :) .

Enjoyable ride out with Paul, Anthony, Rob, George and Ben this morning. The main road route worked well, not just as it was pretty much ice free but also made for a great section near to the cafe where we made extended use of the dual-carriageways. I say 'we', but that should properly be 'the others' as I was only an observer for the final part of their T&O! Sorry to hear of Steve's, Geoff's and the others misfortune with the burst water main. Hope all are ok now.
