from reading what they said, which was just that attending would make you "liable"to arrest, they never actually said they would arrest anyone, no way could they arrest those numbers, look back to when crirical mass was connected with reclaim the streets, that all ended in riots(w******)and they let them get on with it, having been on these rides previously and having spoken to the police who do the rides they are a bit pissed as they are the robbery squad that rides around soho etc catching theifs so i guess i see there point. as it currently is with regards having no set route it does cause more policing.

There was a report on Radio London this morning saying that the threat of arrest has been dropped. The deputy mayor, can't remember her name, had a meeting with Ian Blair and I think there was a u-turn made.

Having said that, I don't think there's been a u-turn on the 'shoot to kill' policy, so you still need to take care!

good point david, they retract the statment to arrest people thinking its all died down and then snipers on the roof taking "pot shots at your tyres", nothing would surprise me
