Hello

I'm writing to you all to invite you to our next Mountain Bike Club Open Day. This is a free day of MTB coaching for senior members of South-East MTB clubs to give you an idea of what we do here at Astounding Adventures and also to help forge links between the various MTB groups in the South-East.

Astounding Adventures offer a wide range of mountain bike courses from beginners to advanced. We'd like to become your first choice when referring new (or old) club members for MTB skills training. The idea of the Open Days therefore is to give you the confidence that you are making a good referral that will result in a positive outcome for the rider.

Last weekend our first Open Day took place with riders from Diary of a Mountain Biker, Muddy Moles and Brighton MTB. Feedback so far has been very positive and therefore we'd like to run another on Saturday the 6th of March for Bucks MTB, Sussex Muddy Arse, Sussex MTB and Addiscombe Cycling Club.

Extremely positive reviews of the day are already live:

The idea is that two senior members from each club take part in a Core Skills (FUNdamentals) course in the morning and in the afternoon, following lunch at a local pub, we will run a few sessions cherry picked from our other courses.

The course will start from the car park adjacent to Holmbury St Mary YHA at 9:30am.

Course programme

09:30-10:00 Introductions, equipment check and tea/coffee
10:00-13:00 Core skills (FUNdamentals) session
13:00-14:00 Lunch (at The Volunteer in Abinger)
14:00-16:30 Singletrack/advanced skills session
16:30-17:00 Feedback, next steps, tea/coffee, goodie bags

It will be an informal, social day with plenty of time to chat between yourselves, exchange information and, if last weekend was anything to go by, make ambitious plans for inter-club rides and expeditions.

Another item of interest for you is that we would like to offer your members a 10% discount across the board on all of our skills courses; mountain biking, hill walking and rock climbing.

Once again it would be great to have you along. Please let me know if you can make it or have any questions.

Cheers!

Danielle Sheridan

would this suit a timid toad like me? I can't quite be sure if this is about building confidence or for more advanced folk. If it is the former I could v well be interested??

Cheers - Snoop

Reading between the lines, I think the morning would be really helpful for you, and if you feel comfortable at lunchtime, maybe the afternoon as well.

I'd encourage you to go, even if just for the morning.

Read the report i think it's the muddy holes on i read, to get a better idea of what it's about. It mentions good burgers in the pub too.

I'd say please confirm here by 5pm today in order that we can get back to them before they ask another club. It's for two people max as mentioned.
