There are trains from LB to Croydon and they aren't that infrequent up to about 11pm. May not be as regular as Victoria. There's a couple of reasonable pubs down the road but one of them, The Old kings head, is very small and always full on any day so not really suitable for a gathering. The George does speckled Hen and has a big outdoors so could be okay for those stopping in on their ride home, problem is you're then very weather reliant.

[quote="DavidD"]The Falcon at Clapham Junction has a superb range of beers.

I'm with David on this one, great range of beers, good food, also easy for people to get to if they wanted to come from Croydon, Also another one to throw in the pot "The Bedford" Ballham, so when are we thinking about for the next gathering?

put march 17th in your diary folks - I'm OK with this clapham venue too - will kick off a separate note about this tonight. We can use this as a chance to say au revoir to Sean too (having previously checked he can make this date :) ). Does the clapham pub have a dart board? (hope so)

CJ is not exactly central. Stations with trains heading south like Victoria, Charring Cross, London Bridge are more central. Trains from London Bridge to Croydon on a Wednesday night

22:58 to EC
23:12 to EC
23:14 slow to SC
23:18 slow to WC
23:42 to EC
23:53 to SC
00:12 to EC
00:26 to EC
00:42 to EC
01:05 to EC
01:35 to EC
02:05 to EC
03:05 to EC

I think there are some nice venues down around borough market?

The only real decent boozer around Borough market is the market porter, which can get very busy, the george is ok, but only if it is nice to sit outside, the globe is quite small. the youngs pub next to the market porter is closed, the kings head is ok, but nowt to write home about (but they do "Tribute" my favorite ale), (being a Millwall supporter i know all these pubs), the reason i agreed with Clapham is most people go through Clapham to get home (Croydon area) from either london bridge, victoria, or waterloo, that was what i meant by being central, also easy for people to get to if coming from Croydon, just a thought.

You don't go through Clapham to get to Croydon from London Bridge, it's a direct train.

I don't think it matters whether it's Victoria, London Bridge or Clapham Junction, they're all easy enough to get to from each other or from Croydon itself depending on where folk start out. Go for the most suitable venue, also bearing in mind that 17/3 is Paddy's day so some places may be best avoided for obvious reasons.

And the longest continuous pub bar in the UK. It also has a superb range of buses from and to to my house :) .

I'm not sure we want to choose a venue on the basis that it's frequented by Millwall supporters, do we Jon?

[quote="Sean Hogan"]We could always choose a pub frequented those who are forever blowing bubbles.

What's it got to do with people perpetually abusing Michael Jackson's pet monkey?
