yes you'll b able to just use an equivalent uk dc power adapter. alternatively you could use a cheap us-uk 110v half wave convertor.

I don't know how many folk who bought powermeters use them regularly, but I'd have thought that for the investment required the rental route makes sense to try before you buy. Rent for a month and see how it goes, you may be able to negotiate a deal if you buy from the place you rent from, i.e. could you buy yours at an ex-rental price.

I can think of other ways I'd rather spend £650 or so.
