Alternatives Ride – Saturday 4th January 2020
Another pleasant day forecast for the club run, so another opportunity to get off the trainers and get some fresh air and proper scenery.
The ride is 52 miles round trip into the Kent country side heading over to Hildenborough, between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.
The ride starts from the club’s usual meeting point at Coulsdon South Station (for around 9am). The route takes us out over to Farthing Down, dropping down to Bletchingly, along Rabies Heath, across to Four Elms, past Bough Beech lake, then Hildenborough for the Teal Cafe. The return route takes us back via Sevenoaks Weald, with a climb up to Ide Hill, dropping down a lovely decent to Brasted, and straight home along the Pilgrims Way.
This is medium paced ride (equivalent to the 17/18mph group), waiting for stragglers at the top of drags and
climbs.
