Alternatives Ride – Saturday 11th January 2020

The better weather is holding up for another week, so another opportunity to get out on the bike.

We start from the club’s usual meeting point at Coulsdon South Station (for around 9am). The route takes us out over the gentle climb over Farthing Down, dropping back down to Bletchingly, over to Outwood past the windmill, then through the narrow quiet lanes behind Smallfields and Corpthorne, into Crawley Down, for the climb up into Turners Hill. Finishing with a quick easy blast over to Ardingley (along familar roads for the Brighton route) to just north of Haywards Heath to the Elvira Cafe at Borde Hill Farm.

The return route takes us back via Balcombe, back through Turners Hill past Tulleys Farm, with the usual route home to Coulsdon.

This is medium paced ride (equivalent to the 17/18mph group), waiting for stragglers at the top of drags and
climbs.
