Virtual Club Run – Sunday 8 November
The first virtual club run of winter is here.
It should have been Saturday this week, according to my alternating Saturday/Sunday calendar.
A few things have got in the way of me getting an invite out on time, so I’m going for this Sunday instead.
I’m going to make a couple of changes to see how they work.
Firstly, I’m going to try a longer route. Big Foot Hills is a rolling route of just over 41 miles with about 5 low level climbs in it. It will take 2 to 2.5 hours to complete, depending on the pace of our ride.
The Big Foot Hills route can be viewed here at the Zwift Insider website:

Secondly, I’m going to try the ride without using the Keep Together mode we used earlier this year. This means if we want to stay together as a group the stronger riders will have to pace the weaker ones. But it also means that we can break into smaller groups that ride at different paces, just like a normal club run, if we decide that suits people better.
Nobody should feel they have to complete the full course. If you want to come along and just ride the first hour or the first 25 miles, that’s fine. Come along anyway. Those who want a longer workout can stay on and ride to the end.
I’ll ask for people’s feedback after the ride and see if they prefer the old style Keep Together mode or this free ride option
Look out for the invites in the Zwift Companion App and hope to see a few of you there. The Discord server will also be available for in ride chat!
