Sunday Gravel – Surrey Loop

6 out for last Sundays Offroad ride out to Shalford and back. Starting from Oaks Park we headed out through Banstead Downs, Burgh Heath and through the back of Epsom Downs. After getting a little lost on Headley Common (and hike a bike), we bounced down the Box Hill bridleway (awful) and over to Denbies before heading all the way along the North Downs to Pewsey Downs. A mixture of mud and dry gravel gave some fun conditions. Jacek Wieckowski had a couple of tumbles, mostly self inflicted, before we arrived at the Snooty Fox at Shalford. After lunch we headed back through Blackheath, Aubrey Estate before climbing Canada Hill back into Denbies. Back up the road at Box Hill this time before cutting over Walton Heath and along Chipstead road to the White Hart for well earned beers where Martin Cripps joined us for convalescence.
60 miles of great riding, great company and a challenging day out. For some reason my photos are blurred if others can add their pics.
