2026 trip to Mallorca was our most successful yet

41 riders and 9 partners made the trip to our base in Port de Pollensa. We were blessed with excellent weather as well, with no rain, moderate winds and temperatures between 21 and 24C, perfect conditions for enjoying the varied roads that Mallorca offers.
We had 1 or 2 routes every day. VCs and ride leaders led groups of up to 10, to ensure that nobody got dropped and everyone felt comfortable in the group they were in. Alongside the excellent weather, this ensured that everyone got maximum enjoyment from their Mallorcan experience.
Rides were typically around 50 miles, but one group took on the 94 mile trip to the San Salvador monastery, which ends with a challenging climb. Another group took on the iconic descent to Sa Calobra and then enjoyed the epic climb back up to the Aqueduct before the thrilling descent to Port de Pollensa via Lluc.
Other days out included our first day ride to Binisallem, ‘club kit day’ ride to Petra and the classic climb up to one of cycling’s most famous petrol stations at the Col de Sa Batalla.
A big thanks go to everyone who helped make this holiday possible. Phil Lambert for sorting out gpx files; Dianne Lambert for booking rooms at the Puerto Azul; Dianne, Linda Cave and Belinda Wigmore for arranging airport transfers; all the VCs and ride leaders who gave their time to make sure each days rides were a success; and of course to Martin Cripps who made sure that every day ended in either the Beach Bar or the La Bicicleta Bar.
Thanks also to Steve Oldroyd who presented our end of holiday awards, where nothing of value was presented whatsoever, just the knowledge that your contribution to Mallorca 2026 had been appreciated!
