ACC January Virtual Time Trials
January 2021 is here, so it’s time to move to the 3rd monthly competition in the ACC Winter Virtual Time Trial programme. Races are scheduled for 19:00 on Wednesday 6, 13, 20 and 27 January.
The rules remain the same. Make sure you select at TT bike from your Zwift garage and your virtual ACC kit.
So, we wave a fond farewell to the ‘sporting’ Innsbruck course and its famous Legsnapper, and head back to Watopia to take on the flat Tick Tock course.
Tick Tock is a clockwise loop 10.49 miles/16.8 kms long. It heads out across the desert of Fuego Flats and then heads back through the Ocean Boulevard tunnel, turning back on to the desert for the run-in to the finish.
Tick Tock is the 2nd flattest route on Zwift and uses the same start as we used for Tempus Fugit in the November league. The lead in is 1.5miles / 2.4kms, which gives us the chance to build speed slowly until we reach the rock arch, where the race is on!
We head across the desert, past the wild west town, through the underground oasis and on through the Saddle Springs resort, but this time we keep on going!
We cross the first of 2 small climbs through the redwood forest and down to the undersea tunnel of Ocean Boulevard.
The second small climb comes as we leave the tunnel and turn right back on to the desert.
We continue on past our starting point, then under the railway bridge and past the cliff dwellings until we finish as we pass through the rock arch for the second time.
Tick Tock is described more fully on the Zwift Insider website here:https://zwiftinsider.com/route/tick-tock/
