When you arrive at Rubys Café, don’t be put off by the portacabin-by-a-pond look. This café is great location for a hot summers day to relax by the small quiet fishing lake. The food is great, though service has been slow on occaisions (no doubt a reflection in the care taken), so probably not a place to go with a large group looking for a quick turnaround. Capel is not far from Newdigate, so a handy alternative. It is also not too far from the Cold Harbour and Leith Hill climbs in the Surrey Hills.
