Hello, thanks to all those that have volunteered to help Addiscombe run the event on the 23rd August. Details are below. I will arrive at HQ for 8am and take out the signage for the event. I will arrange for tea, coffee and some cakes (will buy the day before) and put those in the hall. If all others could arrive at 8.30am at the HQ, I will hopefully be back to be able to help you congregate, but if I am not, could you all just get together in the hall or just at the front and pick up a high viz vest and flag in preparation.
When I get back to the HQ we can then work out who will be on which corner, some corners will require 2 people some will require 3 people. For those that have not marshalled before we will give you clear instructions on how to help marshall the corners for the riders to give them the best possible chance of getting around safely. A bit more information from SERRL below, if someone would like to drive their car as one of the lead cars could they also let me know, they will receive petrol money for doing this:
1/2 volunteers must arrive at HQ, Bells Yew Green Village Hall, post code TN3 9BB, at 8am to take the road signage out onto the course and help with the set up of the start/finish line.
You will need 11 marshals, lead car 1 & 2, neutral support and some one to run the tea bar and bring along the cakes and goodies! All other marshals should arrive at HQ by 8.30 leaving enough time to have a briefing a get out onto the course prior to race start. Drivers should arrive around 8.45.. They should rig up their vehicles and attend the driver's briefing headed by the Chief Commissaire around 9.15. If any of your drivers are BC members and would like to be added to the vehicle registration form for insurance purposes whilst driving around the course during race time, please provide the following information: name dob, BC membership number, make, model and registration of vehicle. People carriers are only allowed as neutral support.
Kind regards
Marek....
