Myself, Terry and Steve Davies down for this. Nice warm day but a bit windier than I expected. Not as fast a day as the 50 that was held in May. Started off well and just tried to keep it steady and not get carried away as I did in the Presidents 10. Seemed to work and kept away from the big gears. The majority of it was done on 53 X15/14. It still amazes me how many people you see in really big gears not going very fast
Passed a few people, I was off 31 and only just saw 30 at each of the turns so he was slowly pulling away from me. Thought I had misjudged the finish but hadn't and got the last effort just right. Had a quick chat with Terry on my way out of the car park, having had orders to get home pronto and take wife and children out. He said he blew a bit towards the end but as he said it was certainly better than sitting watching TV.
A PB by 48 seconds of 57.30 so pleased. I honestly don't think I could have gone much faster.
Back on the same course tomorrow for another crack though
