[quote="Amy"]Well, it was a good day - all my cake went :D Just spoilt by a car load of idiots who thought it was funny to drive as close as possible and touch my @rse
Bloody pond life! -sorry to hear about that Amy. It was good to catch up with you today and rest of the ACC possee 8) You're cakes were delicious!!! :D Oh and whoever came up witht the idea of bringing cakes, coffees, sandwiches, soft drinks etc around to the Marshalls - brilliant idea, thanks :D
It was great day for marshalling, myself and Richard were positioned at the coned area where a car had been burn out. It looked like a good race well done to all the ACC racers and great Job Sylv on bagging fifth place :D

First road race I've witnessed live; great day. Was on finish line; didn't feel like I contributed a great deal. I managed to get the first 15 or so down, then it went all mad. Thankfully there were others with keener vision than I there to do a proper job (respect to Mr Green!). Seemed really well organised from my novice perspective; very professional. Congrats to everyone who took part; my car would have struggled on that course!

And the Banana loaf; what can I say? It seemed to kick in up the A22 drag on the way home; burst of energy came as a bit of a shocker; what the hell did you put in it Amy?! I might have commission some for the June sportive.

Lovely feedback from Neil. His first time at a road race - great day he says. The club should stick his quote on a poster and whack it on the notice board @Charlwood. Compulsory viewing for all the shirkers in the club. Delighted to read you had such a good time Neil - being a part of something like this event is good fun isn't it :)

As I say, don't feel like I did much at all, but hopefully I'll make up for that on Easter Sunday when I 'll be standing on a round-a-bout I believe. Much like the riders no doubt, I'm hoping for some early morning sunshine! Sorry to have missed the ride to East Grinstead though; been looking at off-road routes down there myself for me and my eldest to do. Hopfully Pete'll do it again sometime.

The support on catching the riders numbers is always appreciated Neil. First 15 got points so you got the important ones, and then even if you miss a group then the ones you do get later in the field help to confirm and match up with others to make sure everyone gets placed, or as close to everyone placed as is possible. 3 or 4 taking numbers helps to make sure you can check.

Regarding the finish yesterday, I believe that swearing in front of the cameras and the assembled media carries a standard two match ban.

Tom said "I didn't hear what he said" - which is probably good as he would never hear that sort of language at home, particularly not when I'm trying to fix things.

Re. what Snoop said: marshalling is actually quite fun. Anyone who hasn't tried it should give it a go. Tom had a whale of a time yesterday just watching.

Sorry to hear about Dan. Hope you're back on your bike soon, Dan!

Thanks, Toks, but don't insult pond life - I spent many happy childhood moments fishing in the local duck pond. Good job I have steady nerves or was trying avoid a pothole otherwise I might have been bouncing off the car and/or the road...

As for the banana bread, Neil, I believe it was the poppy seeds :D One of the ambulance men told me that even eating a poppy seed roll would mean he'd fail the drug test for work  Do you think I should stop putting poppy seeds in???

Couldn't the Surrey League at least reprimand the rider who swore?

What a day to hold a road race, spot on with the weather PVT.
Great turn out of marshals, ACC supporters and riders that took part made for a good race that would have only been bettered by an ACC win.

I believe there was an over abundance of marshals which made for good spirits whilst waiting for he riders to get round. I'm sure those at the pub, seemed to be very much over maned/womaned there, enjoyed not just the race :D can't think why.

Lets see ACC competitors in double figures next year :D

I merely asked. Not being there I can't really say much but others seemed to think it inappropriate. After all I can swear as well as anyone and indicated to the car of idiots what I thought of them with a couple of hand gestures - but then I thought it appropriate for the situation. Winning a race.... ?

But enough on that subject - Glyn's on the forum so he will have seen all about the incident and I'll leave it up to him and SL.
