Cardiff 100 Miles Road Club 25 - 5/07/14

A nice bright dry day on the Usk/Monmouth course but with a strong breeze blowing making the last few miles very hard. The wind meant most riders (including me) were a few minutes off their LTS times though I did finish with a season's best 59:36 - nice to get under the hour despite all the miles in the legs.

You must love that course as you always seem to go well there.

Well done and hope to see you later on in the summer perhaps at our Open or for the Presidents`.

Yes this is a lovely course. Apart from a dodgy downhill start and a rougher couple of miles of single carriageway after the turn it's around 22 miles of smooth dual carriageway with the high point halfway along the course. There's no bouncing off the handlebars or looking out for potholes so you can just get on and ride. In all the times I've ridden the course I've only been outside the hour once (1:00:04) on a cold May Sunday morning.
