New World Record

We were there! Sue and I were at the Manchester Velodrome yesterday to witness Alex Dowsett set a new mark for the hour record of 52.937 km just 4 seconds short of making 53 km. It was a beautifully smooth, controlled performance from Alex who at one time was 9s down on Dennis's record ride but finished 30s up. Almost every lap was faster the previous one which made for a very exciting hour. After the ride Alex said he might try again sometime after June 7th!

Snap Terry. Perfect example of how to pace. He was pacing to beat the record though and I think he can go further. Be interesting to see if he goes for it again after Wiggins.
