SERRL Bells Yew Green 23rd August 2015, Marshals notice

Date for the diaries for those that can help out with Marshalling duty in 2015. The South East Road Race League are holding a race on the 23rd August 2015 and Addiscombe Cycling Club are the promoters.

We will therefore be required to supply a number of Marshals for the course to enable the race to go ahead. I requested a course that is as close to our catchment area as possible and managed to get one of the races that starts at Bells Yew Green. This is just east of Tunbridge Wells, so a lot closer than a number of the other SERRL courses.

Realise that it is a long way out, but thought it would be worth getting the date up here and into peoples diaries early so we don't clash with anything else.

I am not sure on the numbers that I will require, but will likely be a couple of cars and around 15 marshals.

Hello, I spoke to SERRL and I need to get the following:

11 Marshalls - The foot soldiers
3 Cars, lead car one, lead car 2 and ideally a neutral service car - The tank division
Tea and Cake Helpers - The rations

If you could let me know if you are able to help out that would be great.

Road race marshalling is a bit more fun than TT marshalling. For a start, it's normally at a reasonable time of day and you get to watch the race unfold. For anyone who's not sure what's involved, in the upper right of your screen should be a link called "Marshalling Info". That contains a brief guide. It's here http://www.addiscombe.org/marshalling/

Hi Guys,

The race starts at 10am, so we would need Marshalls to arrive at the Village Hall at Bells Yew Green which is just across the road from the Frant Train Station on Bayham Road at 9.00am latest. We will have a marshals briefing and then get you out on the course to your positions.

As this is an Elite race I expect it to be fast with a lot of breaks as the course is relatively hilly, should be exciting to watch it unfold.
