So to give an update for those concerned I spoke to Sandy yesterday afternoon and she was back home from the hospital with 7 stitches to her temple and a very bruised thigh.
The Ferrari on the other hand has had it's driver door trashed as the result of Sandy smashing into its window. Yes our Sandy is tougher than a Ferrari

One of the physiotherapists who cradled Sandy in her arms until the ambulance arrived has been in touch and I've given her an update. All the shoppers and shopkeepers were hugely helpful and supportive including the second Physiotherapist, both were there instantly, and the young A&E doctor who passed by a few minutes later.
In keeping with the gutsy determination that she displays when she tackles challenging hills, and which we've all come to admire, Sandy is determined to get back on her bike as soon as possible. Although she's told me that she might not be fit enough for next week!
