Fitting an Aheadset to an Old Frame

Postby HuwG » Sat Aug 16, 2003 3:22 pm

I have an old frame from the 80's (quill stem) and I'd like to fit new forks and an Aheadset ... is this possible ?

Any help appreciated !

Thanks

You shouldn't have any problems at all, just get the right size (presumably 1") aheadset. Get a shop to bang it in or get a long bolt, a couple of nuts and very large washers from your local DIY store and make a press yourself.

The forks will also need to be cut to length and a star-fangled nut fitted, I haven't had to do this...
