Rob,
Suggest you let the local bike shops know. Especially as the pinnie was pretty high spec, it will certainly stand out if someone tries to flog it. You might also want to contact Cycling weekly private sales and see if they will keep an eye out for anyone trying to sell such an item in the private ads. Also post something on other cycling forums. Does that mean you are without wheels? :x

Sorry to hear about your loss. Glad you're insured though. My bikes were stolen recently too, and I was talking to the police at the Bike Show and they suggested checking out Brick Lane Markets. I called all the local bike shops, but never saw them again.

It's the thought of some pikey thief riding your pride and joy that makes me really mad.

Sorry to hear about your bike Rob. The culprit should be flogged with inner tubes. If you want a film to capture the experience, watch the Chinese film Bicycle Thief...its a whole film about a Chinese cycle courier attempting to retrieve his stolen cycle.

I think Ajay means Beijing Bicycle (just call me Barry Norman), sorry to hear abt your bike burglary too Rob. Isn't there anything else you can do to try to track them down? Are there specialised black markets for such good bikes? I am too terrified to leave my 'dale anywhere outside - but then I do live in Lambeth.

 Sorry to hear about your theft. I come from very near Brick Lane and it's unlikely that they'll be there on a Sunday, the bike market there is prety much new and cheap mtb's and the like. The days of 'Matey' selling something he's nicked and selling it on a kerb there are well gone. They've seen you about, seen where you live and know it's valuble and wanted it. They probably live quite nearby or wil be parking in a field in another part of the country soon, aged between 12 and 16, and even if caught-not much would happen regards the police.

Just remember that people like these are stealing bikes up and down the country, day in and day out and the police are almost powerless to do anything when they're caught. Remember that the next time you have to vote...............What you worked and saved damed hard for, some toerag has just stolen. I hate em.

The prince was gorgeous, you must be absolutely gutted.... If there is anything I can do to help you out give me a shout, and that includes helping to castrate the little sh*ts when you find them

Sorry Rob, didn't mean to get you going.

I scan ebay a lot and stuff of dubious propriety often come up so I thought I would give you a nod at least.

I can see why you're thoroughly pi$$ed off.
