This Saturday

Postby David Lombari » Thu Nov 06, 2003 11:02 am

Good morning all,
This Saturday morning (08th Nov) I shall be taking part in the Ballbuster Duathlon http://www.humanrace.co.uk/buster/buster.gif on Box Hill, near Dorking in Surrey. The race consists of 5 laps with each lap being 8 miles long and ascending the hill each time. The first lap is run, the next three are cycled with the final lap being run again (theoretically!).

As you can imagine, it's quite a tough event but my aim is a) to finish b) to finish within 4 hours.

I have decided to use the race to raise funds for charity and, as my father has recently been diagnosed with it, have chosen The Parkinsons Society (http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/).

Any amount you can spare would be greatly appreciated. All costs associated with entering the race have been covered by myself and so any funds raised will go directly to the charity.

Contributions can be sent to me at:

14a Coniston Court
Springfield Road
London
SE26 6HF

Many thanks in advance,
David Lombari.

Does anyone want to come with me to watch David on Saturday. If we meet at CSS at 7.30am and then cycle over to Box Hill we should be there for about 8ish, just after the event starts. We could cycle the route a couple of times and then from there cycle over to Rusper and meet up with the club run coming the other way.

Anyone fancy it I will be at CSS at 7.30.

Cheers

Don't be lazy, get up early and come with me, you will get in lots more miles good for your base training and have the pleasure of my company.

Cheers

This sounds like a good idea to go and watch this on saturday.

I quite fancy getting down early but there is no way I can keep up it takes me 12.5 minutes to get up box hill and that's on a good day.

Come to CSS at 7.30am and we can take it easy to Box Hill. You can go up Box Hill however quickly you like, I won't be breaking any land speed records on my crummy training bike, anyway the thought of a nice warm cuppa at the top of the hill may spur you on to go quicker.

I will be riding over to watch on Saturday. My aim is to get there in time for when the lead guy is finishing his first lap on the run (around 8.45). will set off directly from home as it's easier than coming in via CSS. Will look out for you Marek (and the gang ) at Box Hill.
