Singing in the Rain

Well there were not many people out for this Sat. club run. A mixture between the weather and the rugby no doubt lowered numbers from the normal 70 or so to around 7.

We made our way over to Leigh in the pouring rain and did a few circuits with Jayne.

Unfortunately the stem I fitted earlier in the week was not put on tightly enough so I dropped out of the group half way through as found my handlebars pointing the wrong way, not ideal when riding in a group.

I decided to head off to Dorking and do box hill. Stopping every 10 mins or so to straighten out me handlebars. Then made my way back home to hear the good news that England had managed to scrape through and win the rugger.

I thought you went to the cafe, we came by but you weren't there so we toddled off home Darren and another carried on elsewhere, wet day first time I have got wet since about april and I have ridden 5 times a week since then.

marek, you should have told me what the problem was, I had a fairly extensive tool kit in my bag.

Take it from me, if you didn't have an extendable allen key and a socket wrench then you would not have been able to help.

I tightened up when got home but it is loose again today on my commute into work. I think a visit to the man who can is in order.

I'm a prospective member, but went out on Saturday - not with the club - from 2.30 for a 12 mile ride or so...... just went down the Limpsfield Road in the pouring rain, till I ended up at the bottom of 16% Titsey Hill.....

I didn't fancy doing or even trying it in a headwind and pouring rain.... so I called home and got a lift

I almost like riding in the rain though - my bike seems to 'zip' through and it has little effect on my speed

Hey Andy,

It probably has little effect on your speed because from the sounds of things you were riding with a tail wind down a hill.

If you had tried riding into the headwind up the hill I would think that your speed may have dropped somewhat.

Calling up to get a lift home because it was raining, that is poor.

Lol I'm 15 - quitting was definitely an option, especially as I didn't really fancy doing it.

I'll probably come out for the first Saturday of the month ride in my iBanesto jersey (if it's dried yet ).

You're probably right, I only noticed the headwind as I weakly attempted to climb up it.
