Bikes on trains e-petition

Campaign to make the provision for Bicycles on Trains Free and Compulsory by all train operators.
This would make door to door journeys via trains more attractive, reduce road traffic, and reduce CO2 emissions.

Problem is there is no longer a guard's van. These could take upwards of a dozen bikes on the old slam-door trains and did not interefere with passengers. Now you have a max of two bikes in the specialist carriages and they cannot be carried at peak times. No 10 can "encourage" the Train Operating Companies all they like but elfen safety will always rule and allow the TOCs to say they did their best, but...
As usual our useless govt makes all the right noises but does not deliver.
