No, why would he, they only get cancelled on the day, if not in advance, anyway.

I wouldn't count on it... if there's no big races, they'll be no little races either...

Well done chaps, excellent stuff, good to see Sylv has also embraced the dark side too!
Mr Green your none training regime seems to be paying off nicely.

[quote="Dominic"]And he was out training doing hill reps on Boxhill in the afternoon after the race
He would've raced at or close to threshold for less than an hour so hill reps of boxhill in the afternoon for an elite standard athlete isn't especially impressive. I doubt that he would've managed any PB's though. "The more you train the more you can train" Exercise Physiologist, Andrew Coggan

It still blows me away Toks as I sometimes feel that I can't walk after racing especially early season :?

Oh indeed. In a stage race last summer in wales we did a hilly road race in the morning and a flat out team TT in the afternoon. If you asked me to do that now I'd really struggle. I was just trying to make the general point that very fit athletes recover extroadinarily quickly so can quite often put in a big effort a few hours later or the next day. Apparently there's a bloke in our club that can manage 3 chain gangs a week at this time of the year without problems

Brilliant - I got in the post, a results sheet (8th place), an A5 photo of top quality (with a tongue out but not 100% sure it was on purpose!) and a £10 cheque for the team prize - all neatly packed into a hard enveloppe :D

Nice one Sylv! It's a good event and everyone's a winner, even the marshals got a nice bottle of vino  Well done Don Glover, Tony Alston and the whole team. Perhaps we should big this event up a bit more next year and try to create more interest. 30 riders is a small field. Did Marcus ride this one, can't remember  but after his flyer on the 10 he might consider it...

I am always surprised that NP don't ride this event as it is of course on the course that they like for the interclub. I would agree about pushing this abit next year. Aswell as being a cracking event it is probably one of the closest TTs for most members.

Dom

Most of the NP were either in Majorca (17 of them) or racing in the Wally Gimber (5 others) on the date of the SCCU21. I was around but in the middle of a 4 day block of training and was doing the CTC hilly route myself that day. I agree that it is close by but that date normally clashes for most of us and as a rule we're not keen on TTs if truth be said

Can't do much about the date clash which is a shame but Marcus, this ain't a TT, it's more of a solo RR, surely

Hopefully it'll work out better calendar wise next year. After the way you shot round the SCCU 10, well you lot may not be keen on 'em. but the results speak for themselves. We'll see. 8)
