[quote="huw williams"]Take the most anti-coaching rider you can think of, train him up for 12 weeks on the most tightly planned, structured programme you can devise, and see what you can get out of him. Who do you think would be most eligible?
Ah yes... ANDREW GREEN!!!! Just the man!
I'm not anti-coaching. I personally do not want to follow a structured plan devised by someone else, and I do not think I would respond to it as a lack of desire to follow it strictly would almost certainly out-weigh anything it may do for me, but that doesn't make me anti-coaching. I don't doubt some people respond positively to being well coached and like to have a set of instructions to follow, just not for me.
In the same way that not following a structured plan or training to numbers (HR/power/set timings) doesn't mean you are not training, not having a coach doesn't mean you aren't being coached in some way, I just happen to be my own coach

. Unqualified, yes; old fashioned in some of my methods, perhaps; but we get on well, and if I say so myself I think we had a pretty good season

.
[quote="kieran"]indeed you could probably offer a prize of £1000000 for a picture of Andrew on a turbo and it would go unclaimed.
There is a very basic one gathering dust at the back of the garage, it's been out on loan to people unfortunate enough to be injured more than it's been used by me though.
